Message	i understand your concern for stress fractures and i was considering the possibility of such, which is why i posted this question in the first place. however i started thinking about the small amount of engine motion and the fact the hard intake pipes do(somewhat) help anchor the outside corners of the plenum. regardless, keeping the brackets on is probably the smartest way to go just to be safe.
